The South African UCI Gravel race in Prince Albert this Saturday has been won by Gustav Basson outsprinting Db Loubser after a challenging race over 170km and the hard Swartberg pass in the final.
Gustav also beated the course record in an average speed of 31.3km. Kent Main got overall third at almost one minute behind the two leaders.
In the female race, Catherine Colyn proved to be the strongest in an average speed of 28.8km/h. Theresa Rindler Bachl and Anneke Lund finished second and third.
In the shorter 75km mediofondo counting as qualifier distance for all men over 60 and women over 50 and starting halfway to also take the Swartberg pass, Jimmy Mills won 5 minutes ahead of
Shawn Kirschner and John Bos with Michelle George in a great fourth overall place winning the female race.
