Andrew Evans and Lenny Ramsey to win on homeground in first US qualifier

The first US qualifier event in the Trek UCI Gravel World Series has taken place this weekend in Fayetteville, AR on a 66 miles course in the Ozark Mountains of Norwest Arkansas.

The overall race winner was 30 year old Andrew Evans who won the event in a time of 4h05, four minutes ahead of Mason McNeill with Rane Roatta in third 6m40 after the winner. All three podium contenders were from the M19-34 age group. The average speed of the winner was 16.2 mph on a course with 5000 feet of elevation.

The victory in the female race was for Lenny Ramsey in her home city in an average speed of 14.3 mph. The 36 year old was 6 minutes faster than Stefanie Sydlik while Danielle Larson took overall third.

In the shorter 52 miles race that counted as qualifier for the older age groups, the overall male win was for Timothy Borsetti (M60-64) with Karen Guzman Newton (F50-54) as overall female winner.
