The Gralloch for pure Scottish gravel racing

The second edition of the Scottish qualifier event this weekend keeps on growing as more than 2000 riders have registered for the sold out event.

The route has seen some alterations from the inaugural edition, but the character of the race remains the same. The same kind of distance, the same climbs and the same relentless gravel totalling a 111km course with 1761m of elevation.

After the start in Gatehouse of Fleet, riders head up the mountain for a first paved few hundred meters, but all the rest is pure gravel in a very remote area of the Galloway forrest.  Along the road, climbs with names like Fuffock Hill, Kenick Hill, Slaughter Hill and Loch Grannoch brings you in stunning landscapes.  Along the road only two paved sections, one halfway towards the first feedzone plus the final 13km towards the finish.

Tiffany Cromwell will defend her titel from last year.  Her biggest opponents are Dutch Geerike Schreurs and British Isla Short.  On the male’s side, Alex Dowsett will battle with Nicholas Roche, Petr Vakoc, Nathan Haas, Freddy Ovett and Cameron Mason.
