Monaco Gravel Race between sea and mountains

This Sunday, Monaco Gravel Race delivers one of the most spectacular settings on the gravel calendar, combining demanding terrain with iconic Alpine scenery. The race attracts a truly international field, underlining its status as a must‑ride event despite its deliberately selective format.

All eyes will be on Romain Bardet, who lines up for the men’s race, while Nicole Frain, the current leader in the women’s points ranking, headlines the women’s field.

Elite riders will tackle 116 km with 2,500 metres of elevation gain, while the short course covers 98 km and 2,000 metres D+. Both races feature two laps, with a rocky and technical opening five kilometres and an equally demanding five‑kilometre finale on the same terrain. In between, the course flows over gravel tracks and mountain roads, taking in the Col de Braus, Col du Castillon and Col des Banquettes.

Starting in Peille, riders pass through L’Escarène and Sainte‑Agnès, all while enjoying breathtaking 360‑degree views of the snow‑capped Mercantour peaks and the Mediterranean Sea — a backdrop that makes Monaco Gravel as spectacular as it is challenging.
