A global gravel weekend with 4 races across three continents

The Gravelking UCI Gravel World Series hits one of its busiest weekends of the season with four races in Australia, Italy, Luxembourg and Canada, all offering qualification opportunities for the UCI Gravel World Championships.

In Tasmania, the Devils Cardigan delivers a tough, remote challenge over106 km and 2,250 m of climbing, with Brendan Johnston aiming for a third straight win against a deep international field in the last chance for Australian riders to qualify on homeground.  475 riders have signed up.

At the same time in Italy, the 3 Cime Lavaredo race in the Dolomites tests 534 riders from 7 countries with a brutal 133 km course and over 3,000 m of elevation, making it one of the hardest events on the calendar. Amongst the 535 participants, Deborah Piana and Mattia De Marchi in this new Italian qualifier.

On Sunday, Luxembourg’s Eislek Gravel attracts nearly 1,000 riders from 22 countries on a demanding 110 km course with repeated climbs through Vianden and the surrounding forests over three loops next to the Vianden Castle. World Champion Lorena Wiebes is the big favorite in the women elite with lots of major names in the men elite lined up.

The weekend concludes in Canada with the OG Classique in Wakefield, where riders tackle the rolling gravel roads and steep climbs of the Gatineau Hills in this new Canadian qualifier.  Former Worldtour rider Michael Woods is the big name on the startlist of 485 riders.
