Vuelta Altas Cumbres Gravel: Argentina’s first Gravelking UCI Gravel World Series event

This Sunday, Vuelta Altas Cumbres Gravel makes history as the first-ever UCI Gravel World Series event held in Argentina, with riders lining up in Villa Cura Brochero in the Córdoba province. As the country’s inaugural UCI Gravel qualifier, the race attracts a compact but highly motivated international field.

Set in the dramatic Traslasierra Valley, the race features a demanding 112 km course with 1,930 metres of elevation gain. Starting at approximately 900 metres above sea level, riders climb deep into the Altas Cumbres, reaching a maximum altitude of 2,270 metres. With 92% of the route on gravel, the course combines long, grinding climbs with rough mountain roads and constantly changing terrain.

The race is likely to be decided early, with around 35 kilometres of sustained climbing until kilometre 68, before the profile turns downhill. From there, a fast and technical 33 km descent leads back to the finish in Villa Cura Brochero.

105 riders have registered for the event representing 8 different countries.
