The Majestics were organized for the first time in 2024 under the name Gravel Suisse and have been awarded to organize the UCI Gravel World Championships in 2029. The race takes place at the doorsteps of the UCI headquarters in Aigle and takes on difficult roads in the mountains of the Vaudois Alps surrounding the town.
Course
The event features two qualifying distances: a 104 km Granfondo, serving as the official qualifying race for younger age groups, and a 70 km Mediofondo, which counts as the official qualifying distance for men over 60 and women over 50
The start is located at the UCI headquarters in Aigle. The course is divided into two distinct sections.
The first section covers 58 km across the Rhone Valley, mostly on fast and relatively flat terrain. The only significant climb in this part comes at km 32 towards L’Essert, a 4.8 km ascent gaining 304 metres of elevation.
The second half of the race is where the real challenge begins, featuring the main climbs of the day as the route leaves the valley and heads into the mountains.
Riders will face a varied alpine gravel terrain including forest sections, open meadows, 4×4 tracks, steep ramps and technical gravel descents. The course finishes near the village of Villars-sur-Ollon, after descending the Col de la Croix road.
The course layout also remains spectator-friendly, with several access points allowing supporters to move between locations and see riders multiple times.
Granfondo
(qualifier distance for all men 19-59 and women 19-49)
Mediofondo
(qualifier distance for all men 60+ and women 50+)

Profile
With 2,500 m of elevation gain over 104 km, the Granfondo offers a demanding alpine profile, although slightly more accessible than in previous editions. The course ranges from a minimum altitude of 373 m to a highest point of 1,828 m, which is reached approximately 12 km before the finish.
Most of the elevation gain is concentrated in the second part of the race, where riders face the longest and steepest climbs of the day, including several sustained gravel ascents and demanding ramps that require careful pacing and energy management.
The Mediofondo, with 2,000 m of elevation gain, follows a shorter but still physically challenging profile, providing a serious alpine test while remaining more approachable.
Overall, both routes reward strong climbing ability, technical handling on mixed gravel terrain, and well-managed effort throughout the final mountain section.
