Organised for the first time in Vianden, Luxembourg, the Eislek Gravel Luxembourg is the first UCI gravel race in the Grand Duchy.
Course
The Eislek Gravel course is a 46.8 km circuit made up of two parts: the Luxembourg loop and the German loop. Young categories do 2,5 laps while men over 60 and women over 50 complete 1,5 lap. It’s a great course to test all your gravel riding skills, whether you’re good at climbing hills, riding steadily on flat ground, or handling tricky sections.
The Luxembourg Loop
Right from the start in Vianden, you’ll feel the history and the challenge. The loop kicks off with an amazing uphill ride over cobblestones that takes you to Vianden Castle, a castle that has been overlooking the area for ages. This beginning really shows what the ride is all about – where history and beautiful scenery come together.
After passing the castle on your right, you’ll go into the Vianden Forest for a gradual climb of about 10 kilometers. This will take you to the highest point of the whole course, which is 510 meters high.
The downhill part that follows has both paved roads and forest trails, so you’ll feel fast and free. Once you reach the Our River, the path becomes twisty and fun, taking you quickly back down towards Vianden. This first loop is 23.5 km long and will bring you past the finish line for the first time before you start the German Loop.
The German Loop
The German loop is designed to keep the fun going with different kinds of ground and hills. After a 2-kilometer climb on a regular road, this loop feels totally different. The scenery is softer, the ground is easier, and you can ride at a more consistent pace. Here, the race stretches out over long gravel paths where you can really pick up speed and enjoy the smooth ride, surrounded by nature.
On the way back, you’ll cross the border again in the middle of the forest and get that special feeling back as you follow the river on a greenway. This part brings you back to the center of Vianden, ready to start the Luxembourg loop again if needed.

Profile
The course will have a total elevation gain of 1820m for the 115km and 1100m+ for the 70km. The most difficult climb is in the first 10 kilometres of each lap where the riders climb from 200m to 510m above sea level with especially in the first kilometre percentages above 10%.
