The Philippines will host this weekend the very first UCI Gravel World Series event on the calendar with a race on Sunday in Bongabon in the north of the country.
Riders have the option between a 65 or 85km course. The short course is the official qualifier distance for those wanting for qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships for all men over 60 and women over 50 while the longer 85km course counts as qualifier distance for all younger males and females.
The main difficulty of the day comes right after the start with a steep 3km climb with parts up to 13% The rest of the course is mainly flat with some paved sections in between. Start and finish are along the Vega Grande River.
