The UCI Gravel World Series expands to South America this weekend with its inaugural Brazilian event in Camboriu, Santa Catarina. This marks the series’ presence on a sixth continent.
The 111km course, featuring 90% gravel and 1600m of elevation gain, traverses the region southeast of Balneario Camboriu. A significant 5km climb, averaging 7%, occurs at the 75km mark.
Shorter 62km races, avoiding major climbs, are offered as official UCI Gravel World Championships qualifier distance for men over 60 and women over 50.
Approximately 400 riders are registered for this first edition, organized by the team responsible for the established UCI Gran Fondo Brazil.
