The second edition of the Danish TREK UCI Gravel World Series leg in Blaavands on the westernmost point of the country will have a new course. Start and finish remain in Blaavands, but next to the beach with a gravel finish.
The 39km lap needs to be done 4 times for the elites, men up to the age of 59 and women up to the age of 49 for a total distance of 155km while the older categories finish after 3 laps and 116km. The course is more east compared to last year’s edition but remains a mix of sandy gravel roads and short paved sections which is primarily flat.
Famous rider at the start is Tim Merlier who recently won three stages in the Giro d’Italia. He comes with his Belgian Soudal-Quick Step teammate Bert Vanlerberghe while Dutch Tessa Neefjes will come to defend her win from last year in the women’s race. A total of 700 riders representing 29 different nationalities have signed up for the event.
