After two years in Victoria’s high country, the Gravelista event relocates to Seymour, a city one hour north of Melbourne for a new great course with a 43km loop that needs to be done once or twice depending on the categories.

Course

The course starts and finishes at the Seymour Racecourse, and enjoys 83% of quality gravel riding. There’s a paved 2.5km neutral start before turning left onto gravel roads. At the 25km mark, the course turns left, and heads on on the first of two (2) 43km loops, before returning to Seymour. At the 30km mark, than again at the 73km mark, is the crux of the course; the Wicket Hill Climb. While only 1km in length, the section gains 125m and averages 11%.

The course is mostly rolling, enjoying wide open gravel roads interspersed with the relief of some short, paved road stretches.  The elevation ranges from 155m above sea level up to 520m, when passing by the Wallaby Gully Flora Reserve. The finish is again made up of a short paved section before return to the Racecourse and the event village.

The course counts as the first 2025 World Championships qualifier event for Men & Women elite and age groups (19-59). And is also open to all recreational riders.

A shorter 95km course uses the same routes but returns to the finish after completing one lap.

Profile

The profile of the event in Victoria’s High Country is challenging with roads always undulating, varying from 550m at the start to 180m at the 66km point passing the Eldorado village followed by a tough 6.4km climb at an average of 5.2% and a second 12.5km climb to the highest point which is reached after 102km at an average gradient of 3.3% with parts up to 12%.  It’s here where the race win will likely be fought out.

The 75km course doesn’t do the final loop towards the highest point and has an elevation of 1372m while the 115km course has 1892m of elevation.
