Under a brilliant sky this past Sunday, Benjamin Perry and Devon Clarke have shown power to win the Paris2Ancaster gravel event, a unique Canadian UCI qualifier.
Benjamin Perry conquered the challenging 110km course with an impressive average speed of 36.6km/h. He secured the win in a sprint finish, outpacing Yehor Volkov and Theo De Groote. Peter Disera closely followed, finishing fourth in the same leading group.
In the women’s race, Devon Clarke proved to be the best, crossing the finish line as the first female rider in an average speed of 31.5km/h. Anne-Sophie Hebert finished strongly in second place, trailing by 1 minute and 42 seconds, while Hannah Simms claimed third in the elite women’s category, 2 minutes and 18 seconds behind the leader.
This year marked a significant move for the Canadian UCI qualifier, relocating from the Blue Mountains to join the established and popular Paris2Ancaster race. The event proved to be a resounding success, attracting a record-breaking 2187 riders. This impressive turnout makes it the largest event in the UCI series held on the American continent to date.
