National champions show power on 2026 Worlds courses

UCI Gravel World Series

Seven Gravel Race in Nannup, Western Australia is host of the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships on one of the most beautiful courses you can offer for gravel. No surprise that lots of riders already took the opportunity to come and experience the 126km course in this year’s qualifier who attracted 1600 riders at the start.

In the men elite race, national champion Mark O’Brien took his first win in the green and gold jersey after powering away on a climb with 10 kilometers to go. Home rider Mark Chong finished second for the third time in a row at 34 seconds while Brendon Davids finished third at 51 seconds.

The female elite victory was for Tiffany Cromwell, runner-up in last week’s The Devil’s Cardigan. It looked as if home rider Cassia Boglio was on her way to win the race as she got a comfortable 5 minutes lead with 30km to go after having built up the gap step by step from early in the race, but Cromwell managed to get back in the final 5km, outsprinting Boglio on the line. Last week’s winner Talia Appleton finished as third at 1m32.
