Mudfest at Gravel One Fifty

UCI Gravel World Series

The third edition of Gravel One fifty as UCI Gravel World Series event was held under very muddy conditions with pouring rain for most of the day and riders suffering in technical difficult circumstances.

British cyclocross rider Thomas Mein proved to have the best skills and power to win with a 2m44 lead towards Rick Ottema (NED) who was the fastest of a group of 6 outsprinting Brent Cle (BEL), Jasper Ockeloen (NED), Adne Koster (NED), Seppe Rombouts (BEL) and Joren Bloem (NED). Mein got away around halfway in the race to finish with an average speed of just over 34km/h.

Former cyclocross world champion Thalita De Jong took the female with finishing one minute ahead of Marielle Trouwborst who was dropped in the last part of the race while F19-34 world champion Wendy Oosterwoud finished third at 3m39 for a complete Dutch podium.

2064 riders had signed up for this event making it the second biggest UCI Gravel World Series event after Aachen in Germany earlier in May.
