Markus and Habets Dutch winners in fast Gravel One Fifty

One of the fastest and flattest races in the UCI Gravel World Series had a superfast start with the men elite completing the first hour in almost 43km/h average saw different attacks of individuals and small groups trying to escape on the fast flat stretches in the Dutch Drenthe province, but the many turns also slowed down the speed.

It was finally Dutch Jordan Habets who managed to get away with a late attack, finishing 5 seconds ahead of Belgian Kamiel Notebaert with last year’s winner Thomas Mein finishing third at 14 seconds in the streets of Roden.  The rest of the large 19-men lead group finished 25 seconds behind.

The women elite saw a battle between Dutch Femke Markus and German Rosa Klöser, recently winner in Luxemburg and Germany.  Markus won, outsprinting Klöser on the line.  Czech Julia Kopecky finished third at more than 5 minutes.

With this event, the UCI Gravel World Series will take a short 5-week break towards the final 9 legs leading up to the Bolero 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships taking place in Zuid Limburg!
