The UCI Gravel qualifier in northern Spain this weekend is ready to host 709 riders from 22 different countries in Ponts on a splendid course in rural Catalonia for a challenging 166 race with 2000m of elevation.
Last year, the race was a great success with Carlos Verona (Movistar) winning the men’s race in the ideal gravel paradise. Marta Romeu was the female winner in 2022. Curious if their average speeds of respectively 34.7 and 30.2 km/h can be beaten.
Apart from the 166km qualifier distance, there are also shorter courses of 67 and 104km which are not qualifiers.
