Global field gathers for Asia’s only UCI Gravel World Series Event

This weekend, Thailand hosts the Dustman Gravel Race—the sole Asian qualifier in the UCI Gravel World Series. Drawing a diverse peloton of 300 riders from 28 countries across every continent except Africa, the event offers a unique mix of competition and end-of-season travel for many participants.

The race unfolds on a scenic loop course near Kanchanaburi’s Muang Sing Historical Park, a site renowned for its proximity to the iconic River Kwai bridge, a World War II landmark. Elite and younger age group riders will tackle a 130km route with gentle rolling terrain and 840 meters of elevation. Meanwhile, men over 60 and women over 50 will compete on a shorter 70km course with 550 meters of climbing.

In the men’s elite field, Danish rider Tobias Kongstad leads the favourites, with his compatriot Ian Millennium and Dutch Rick Nobel expected to challenge. The women’s race promises a contest between Britain’s Hayley Simmonds and Caroline Livesey, and Germany’s Karen Weiss.
