The 2025 UCI Gravel World Series gets underway with a brand-new event: the Castellon Gravel Race in Llucena, Spain (Valencia region).
The sold-out race, featuring 800 riders including defending champions Alejandro Valverde and Sofia Rodriguez Revert, German champion Carolin Schiff, and former Tour de France riders Nicolas Roche and Jan Bakelants, kicks off the season earlier than last year’s April start.
Riders will tackle a challenging 97km circuit around Llucena, boasting 72% gravel and 2500m of elevation gain. A shorter 85km course, omitting the final loop, serves as a qualifier for men over 60 and women over 50.
