Avancini and Panini take victories in UCI Gravel Brazil

UCI Gravel Brazil once again confirmed its importance on the Gravelking UCI Gravel World Series calendar as more than 400 riders lined up in Camboriú, Santa Catarina, for Brazil’s only official UCI gravel qualifier.

Elite men: Avancini dominates and rewrites Gravel World Series history

In the elite men’s race, Brazilian star Henrique Avancini produced a dominant solo performance on home soil. The two‑time UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Champion (2018 and 2023) rode clear of the field early and never looked back, crossing the line in 3:27:21.

Avancini’s winning margin proved historic. With a 12‑minute gap to second place, he set a new benchmark for the largest winning margin in a Gravel World Series elite race. This eclipsed the previous reference performance by Wout van Aert at Houffa Gravel 2023, where the Belgian star won with a 9‑minute advantage over his closest rivals.

Behind Avancini, Joaquin Plomer Vilotta claimed second place in 3:39:34, finishing 12:13 behind the winner, while Vitor Eduardo dos Santos Prado Correa Pompeu completed the podium in 3:45:14, at 17:53 back. The sizeable gaps underlined the selective nature of the race and Avancini’s control from start to finish.
