Almost 2000 riders try to grab their tickets for worlds on home ground

With the UCI Gravel World Championships just around the corner, the third edition of the Houffa Gravel event is the final opportunity for Belgian riders to secure their place on the starting line. The challenging 110km course, featuring the steep Côte du Saint Roch and winding through the picturesque Belgian countryside, will put riders to the test.

A shorter 68km option is the qualifier distance for men over 60 and women over 50, offering a direct route to the finish line halfway the course.

A competitive field is expected, including former Olympic champion Greg van Avermaet and winners of previous Gravel World Series legs this year like Toby Perry, Olivier Godfroid, Sebastian Schonberger, and Frederik Rassman. In the women’s category, national champion Alana Castrique will face stiff competition from Janine Schneider, Stefanie Dohrn, Klara Sofie Skovgard, and age group world champions Wendy Oosterwoud and Joyce Vanderbeken.

Curious to see who will be next on the list of winners of the race after last year’s victories of  Wout van Aert and Pauliena Rooijakkers.
