Turnhout Gravel is a new event in the UCI Gravel World Series with a course that was partly used during the 2024 Belgian Gravel Championships which attracted 1700 riders at the start in the gravel paradise on the borders of Belgium and the Netherlands

Course

The race, with start and finish in the city center of Turnhout next to the cosy harbour, will feature a 79km course to be done once or twice depending on the category.

The course is flat with long wide open “American style” gravel roads. The second part of the course was used during the 2024 Belgian Gravel Championships.  The extension is in the first part with a northern section through the nature reserve “Vennengebied” and a remote area in the north of Belgium, passing along the prison walls of Wortel Kolonie.  The second part follows the channel on long and fast straightforward gravel paths back to the finish line.

Perhaps its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998 is enough to get you through the gates. Beyond you will discover the beautiful beguinage and its vibrant history.
