Carolin Schiff from Germany and Petr Vakoc from the Czech Republic have secured the top spots in the 2024 TREK UCI Gravel World Series points ranking. This impressive achievement positions them favorably at the start of the upcoming UCI Gravel World Championships.
The starting order for the elite categories in next week’s world championships is determined by a combination of points earned in the TREK UCI Gravel World Series, the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships, and 50% of the points from the UCI rankings in road, mountain bike marathon, mountain bike cross country, and cyclocross.
Schiff, who placed third in the ranking last year, has consistently performed well throughout the series, winning the races in Millau (FRA), Singen (GER) and Jakuszyce (POL) and scoring points in six legs. Vakoc, who finished fifth in the 2023 ranking, has made a significant leap this year, winning the Quattordio leg and scoring points in nine races.
Joining Schiff in the top five women’s elite are Tessa Neefjes (NED), Tiffany Cromwell (AUS), Jade Treffeisen (GER), and Klara Sofie Skovgard Hansen (DEN). In the men’s top five, Vakoc is followed by Kevin Panhuyzen (BEL), Adne Koster (NED), Frederik Rassmann (GER), and Hugo Drechou (FRA).
