The 2024 La Monsterrando gravel race featured a new longer course. The elevation however remained more or less the same as the added distance in the beginning was on flatter roads. The event, consisting of a 152km granfondo and a 75km mediofondo (essentially the first half of the long course), saw some impressive performances from both male and female riders.
Czech Petr Vakoc, defending champion, once again claimed victory in the men’s elite race. He finished 2 minutes and 13 seconds ahead of Norwegian Andre Roed Torbjorn, with Danish Asbjorn Hellemose rounding out the podium at 3 minutes and 6 seconds. The race was highly competitive, with the top 10 riders spread over a distance of 8 minutes.
In the women’s elite race, Italian Alice Maria Arzuffi delivered an even more dominant performance than Vakoc. She secured a commanding 5 minutes and 45 seconds lead over Polish rider Karolina Migon, with Italian Elena Cecchini finishing third at 7 minutes. The remaining top 10 finishers were at least 20 minutes behind Arzuffi.
