The second edition of the 3RIDES Gravel event in Aachen, the biggest event so far in number of participants with 2200 riders from 56 different countries at the start had updated courses compared to last year.
In the elite men race, there was a sprint finish on the line between a lot of top level pro riders with Daan Soete (BEL) outsprinting Frederik Rassmann (GER), winner in Sardinia two weeks ago and Dries van Gestel (BEL) in third. Former Olympic champion Greg Van Avermaet (BEL) finished as fourth.
The female win was a solo for Lucinda Brand (NED) winning 4 minutes ahead of Rosa Klöser (GER) with Lore de Schepper (BEL) third at almost 6 minutes. Top 5 was completed with former triple CX worldchampion Sanne Cant (BEL) and European gravel champion Lorena Wiebes (NED).
