The second edition of the Polish qualifier event in the Trek UCI Gravel World Series this weekend has made some changes to the course as the final has been redesigned compared to last year, resulting in a less technical but more challenging last part.
The 533 riders who signed up, representing 25 different nationalities start from the Ski & Sun Sports Center in Swieradow Zdroj and directly have the biggest challenge of the day in the start as the riders immediately start with a 7km climb at an average gradient of 6.5% to the highest point on course over 1000m. The rest of the beautiful circuit winds through the woods and slopes in the Izerskie Mountains.
There is a 112km course for the younger age groups while all men over 60 and women over 50 qualify on a shorter 65km course.
Last year, the race was won by German Christian Kreuchler with former MTB World Champion Maja Wloszczowska winning the female race.
