The Dutch qualifier in the Trek UCI Gravel World Series was the second last option to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships. After months of dryness, the last week before the race had heavy rainfall which resulted in a muddy event with some very heavy sections.
The 150km race which counted as official qualifier distance for all men 19-59 and women 19-49 saw a group quickly splitting from the main pack with Dutch Piotr Havik, Ivar Slik and Jasper Ockeloen next to Danish Andreas Stokbro as most important riders. Ockeloen already won the qualifiers in Denmark and Belgium, Havik the race in Italy, Slik as winner of Unbound and finally Stokbro who was part of the Qhubeka worldtour team last year.
Havik decided to go for a long solo before halfway but was caught back in the final by Stokbro and Slik with Stokbro finally winning with a small gap to Slik while Havik finally got third. Jasper Ockeloen finished as fourth.
German Carolin Schiff won the female race before Dutch Tessa Neefjes, already winner in France and Belgium with Dutch Linda Klein as overall third.
In the 78km race counting as qualifier for men over 60 and women over 50, Jos Kaal was the overall winner with Dutch Jan Brouwer as first in the qualifier categories winning his M65-69 age group. Judith Van Maanen was the first female winning her F50-54 age group.
