The 114 Gravel Race continues its strong growth and has already surpassed 450 registered riders, with participation expected to exceed 500 riders ahead of race weekend.
Scheduled for Saturday, the event once again places Elvas (Portugal) and the Extremadura region (Spain) at the centre of international gravel cycling. With around 80% of riders travelling from outside Spain, the race confirms its status as a truly international event with strong sporting, tourism and media impact.
The updated 137km course is mainly flat and only counts some elevation on the Portuguese side, but once crossing the border after 37km, the last 100km are flat and fast.
Strong international field
The start list includes well‑known names from gravel, MTB and road cycling. European Champion Mads Würtz Schmidt (DEN) is the main favorite together with his compatriot Tobias Morch Kongstad, Tiago Ferreira (POR) and Connor Sens (AUS).
The female race will be a battle between Nicole Frain (AUS), winner in Turnhout last weekend, Geerike Schreurs (NED), Tessa Neefjes (NED), Romy Kasper (GER), Sophie Wright (GBR) and Maddy Nutt (GBR).
