Tomorrow, the Gravelking UCI Gravel World Series arrives in South America as UCI Gravel Brazil takes place in Camboriú, Santa Catarina. More than 400 riders will line up for Brazil’s only official UCI gravel qualifier, ready to take on one of the most demanding courses on the calendar.
The 113 km Gran Fondo delivers a serious challenge with 1778 meters of elevation gain and 90% gravel, combining fast unpaved roads with repeated climbs. A long ascent after the opening kilometers sets the tone, followed by several short but steep climbs in the middle of the race, where gradients hit double digits.
There is no easy option on Brazilian gravel. Even the 69 km Medio Fondo as qualifier distance for the men over 60 and women over 50 still packs over 1100 meters of climbing.
With warm conditions, rough surfaces and a highly competitive field, UCI Gravel Brazil promises to be a real challenge in its second edition.
