The second edition of the UCI Gravel Suisse in Villars had relocated its start to the UCI headquarters in the valley, but the course remained challenging with its highest peak at 1820m and a total elevation gain of 3440m.

German Andreas Seewald, 2021 UCI MTB Marathon World Champion, managed to handle the climbs best in the Alpes Vaudoises region and the Col de la Croix to win 5m28 ahead of Dutch ranking leader Mathijs Loman while German Pierre Keup completed the men elite podium at 5m45.

In the women elite, Great Britain’s Sophie Wright impressed with a 7m15 win to Millau’s winner Axelle Dubau-Prevot from France while British Sophie Vitzthum Von Eckstaedt got third podium spot at 9m16.  A first win for Wright after having finished 4th and 3rd in Belgium and the UK earlier this season.
