The Tasmanian gravel event, having successfully hosted the national gravel championships for the past two years, now adds the prestigious UCI Gravel World Series designation to its impressive track record of high-caliber events.

This year’s edition has attracted 360 participants, predominantly Australian riders from various states, but also international competitors from New Zealand and Great Britain.

The elite field includes recent national champions Tiffany Cromwell and Mark O’Brien, Brendan “Trekky” Johnston, who secured victory in the past three Australian UCI qualifiers and is last year’s champion, as well as last year’s women elite national champion Holly Harris and XCO national and Oceania champion Sam Fox.

Olympic and World Champion time trial Grace Brown is the event’s ambassador. The challenging 106km course features a significant 2300m of elevation, with 87% gravel and three major climbs concentrated in the first half. A shorter 54km option is also available as a qualifier for older age categories.
