Woerthersee Gravel Race for Bak Klaris and Schreurs

UCI Gravel World Series

The sold-out Woerthersee Gravel Race in Austria saw 2000 riders tackle a new 140km course (two laps of 70km). The elite fields featured 125 men and 45 women.

Magnus Bak Klaris (Pas Racing) of Denmark claimed victory in the men’s race, building on his recent second-place finish in Belgium. He and Swiss rider Felix Stehli (Team Vorarlberg) broke away during the first lap, along with Belgian Daan Soete (Ridley Racing Team). Soete eventually lost contact, and Bak Klaris launched a decisive attack on the final climb. Stehli finished 40 seconds behind in second, while Lukas Postlberger (Rose Racing Circle) of Austria took third, 2 minutes and 18 seconds back, securing the Austrian national title.

In the women’s race, Geerike Schreurs (SD Worx Protime) of the Netherlands added another win to her tally. After a large group of 13 riders remained together for much of the race, Schreurs made her winning move on the final climb, finishing 20 seconds ahead of Poland’s Karolina Mignon (Pas Racing) and German champion Carolin Schiff (Canyon CCLCTV).
