The first Southern American UCI Gravel race in Brazil yesterday was held under bright sky with hot temperatures on a beautiful course south of Camboriu.
In the 120km race with 2000m of elevation, Swiss Simon Pellaud took a clear win with a 7-minute lead to Argentinian Facundo Perez Costa with Italian Daniel Oss as third at almost 15 minutes. Pellaud, vice-national road champion in Switzerland finished with an average speed of 29,37 km/h.
British Madeleine Nutt was the overall best in the female category ahead of four Brazilians with Tamires Fanny Radatz and Luiza Euzebio de Souza as second and third at respectively 13 and 16 minutes behind Nutt who rode at an average speed of 23,34 km/h.
