2025 UEC European Gravel Championships in Avezzano closes 2025 season

The third edition of the European Gravel Championships take place this weekend in Avezzano in the Italian Abbruzo region.  The course is a 29,5km loop to be done 2 to 5 times, depending on the category.  Men elite cover 5 laps and women elite 3 laps for a total distance of respectively 148 (2320m of elevation) and 88km (1392m of elevation).

Amongst the favourites, we see Connor Swift from the UK, Danish Mads Würtz Schmid, winner of 4 UCI Gravel World Series legs this season, French Hugo Drechou, Austrian Felix Stehli, German Paul Voss  and Italians Mattia De Marchi and Daniel Oss.  Dutch Mathijs Loman has already secured the UCI points ranking for this year, but an additional European title would fit well on his performance list of this season.

In the women elite race, last week’s winner Axelle Dubau-Prevot from France will challenge German Rosa Klöser, Polish Karolina Migon and a full team of Italian top level females including Erica Magnaldi, Elena Cecchini and Letizia Borghesi
