After a long qualifier season, it’s finally the weekend where all is happening.  The 2025 Bolero UCI Gravel World Championships will have 2954 riders at the start representing 53 different countries.

On Saturday, the elite women will do a 131km race with start in Beek and finish in Maastricht and a course through Beekdaelen and Beek. The 50km loop needs to be done 2,5 times before heading on the finish loop to Maastricht with the famous Bronsdalweg in the final.

Favorites are defending World Champion Marianne Vos, her compatriot Lorena Wiebes , 2023 World Champion Kasia Niewiadoma and Italian Silvia Persico.  They will get a hard competition from the real gravel specialists like Rosa Klöser, Nicole Frain, Tiffany Cromwell and Wendy Oosterwoud.

On the same day, the men over 50 and all women age groups will battle for their titles in their respective age groups over 81 or 131km.

On Sunday, the men elite will do a third loop, finishing after 181km with British Tom Pidcock as big favorite, but curious to see if he will be recovered from Lombardia the day before.  The 22 and 23 World Champions Gianni Vermeersch and Matej Mohoric will be the main competitors together with Tim Wellens, vice world champion Florian Vermeersch, Quinten Hermans, Romain Vardet and European champion Mads Würtz Schmidt.  Or can the gravel specialists like Mathijs Loman, Petr Vakoc and Kevin Panhuyzen surprise the worldtour riders?

All can be followed live on TV via various channels worldwide including NPO1, Sporza, Eurosport, Discovery +, HBO Max and the UCI youtube channel plus many more…
