The new UCI Gravel race with start in Elvas (Alentejo) in Portugal and finish in Badajoz (Extramadura) in Spain is the first event in the Gravel series connecting two countries.
The 123km course is has a first 20km on Portuguese soil before crossing the border near the finish line in Badajoz where riders enter on a 100km loop south of the finish location. Total elevation is 864m with the major climbs in the middle of the course. The final 30km are flat.
515 riders have registered, coming from 30 different countries.
Former MotoGP star Aleix Espargaro is one of the famous participants, but also gravel specialists like Annabel Fisher, Lucia Gonzalez, Freddy Ovett, Jose Maria and Mario Fernandez are on the startlist.
